When I was a kid, Snoopy and the entire Peanuts® gang were as big a part of my Halloweens as trick-or-treating. Every year, Grandma watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with me and my cousin as we reveled in our costumes, decorations, candy and fun.
Last year, I got to see my own kid start to love it as much as I do—and his great-grandma did—in real time. And it got me thinking: How could I create that special Snoopy Halloween magic for him?
That’s where these ideas come in! It doesn’t matter if you’re embracing nostalgia with besties, going all out for your own love of Charlie Brown or introducing a new generation to Snoopy and the gang. You’re sure to find lots of ways to create memories with the kind of Snoopy Halloween party where everyone has fun—and nobody gets a rock.

Craft and decorating ideas
Let’s start with the biggest, Great Pumpkin-est part of the decorations: a sincere pumpkin patch. After all, having one is the best way to get the Great Pumpkin to make an appearance. One easy way to create a pumpkin patch and set a whimsical Halloween vibe is with these Peanuts® pumpkin-carving printables.
If pumpkin carving isn’t practical for you, that’s OK! We have more Snoopy-inspired ideas to bring great fun to your Halloween setup:
- These Snoopy the Vampire Beagle light-up pillowlet the Peanuts® gang live at the center of the fun.
- Craft a cauldron of bats (yes, a group of bats is known as a cauldron!) to hang all around the house with this simple paper bat DIY.
- Drape this Snoopy and Woodstock comic strip fall throw blanket over a sofa or display it on a wall or backdrop to add timeless humor to the party.
- Have this Peanuts® Halloween pop-up cardon hand for the snack table or craft table—or anywhere, really.
- Add even more decor with this Snoopy the Vampire Beagle Halloween plush with sound and motion, a Vampire Snoopy and Woodstock Halloween figurine with light or this light-up Boo! decor piece with an absolutely adorable Halloween scene.
Food and drinks
You could go SO many ways with your Peanuts-themed Halloween party food. (In fact, there are way more Halloween recipes here.) We just happen to think these ones would be perfect for your party table:
- Make a batch or two of these sweet and salty caramel apples, complete with pretzel bottoms.
- Wow your partygoers with this itsy-bitsy spiderweb cake.
- These skeleton cupcakes are almost too cute to eat!
- To keep treats light, try these Halloween cookie pops (sometimes it’s OK to play with your food!)
For drinks, mix up something warm and cozy to scare away those post-trick-or-treating chills with these cute and classic Vampire Snoopy and Woodstock mug.
- Fall flair in a cup? Yes, please! Whip up a batch of this warm mulled cider.
- For the ones digging the chocolate bars out of their treat bags, how about some hot cocoa?
- Don’t tell the Great Pumpkin we suggested it, but this homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe uses REAL pumpkin. 🫣
Need something to serve on or in?
Holidays of all kinds are perfect for having a little fun with food presentation, and Halloween is no exception! If you’re not sure where to start, we have a few ideas:
- These large “boo” plates and smaller Halloween print plates (coming soon!) are a sweet way to pass the snacks around.
- And these “be scary” cocktail napkins or black and white large napkins (coming soon!) will help keep any paws and claws clean.
- A mummy treat bowl (coming soon!) is a natural spot to keep heaps of freshly popped popcorn. Find all our popcorn recipes here!
Party favors
Tiny take-aways are a great way to put your party over the top when it comes to fun. We have a few easy ideas for you!
- These adorable pumpkin tissue treat bags make sure everyone leaves with a bit of Halloween loot.
- Or make these little lollipop ghost treats dressed like your favorite hole-y ghost from the movie.
- Snoopy and Woodstock ornaments work for Christmas and Halloween trees.
- Go ahead—give out “rocks.” Chocolate or glazed doughnut holes do the trick, and they treat at the same time. (Get it?)
- Or grab some of this black tissue paper, fill it with candies or cookies, and tape it into a ball to create a rock.
- For kids party favors, it’s hard to go wrong with slime. Choose orange, white or yellow to represent pumpkins, Snoopy or Woodstock.
- Also, check out this “Going Batty” Snoopy plush that kids can snuggle long after the party is over.
- This Peanuts sticker book has 250(!!!) stickers to add fun to lists, planners, coloring books and more.
Need some more inexpensive favors? Try party poppers, toy cars, packs of Crayola crayons or sticker sheets.
Peanuts costume ideas
“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” gives so much material (pardon the pun) to work with for dreaming up costumes. Snoopy’s daydreams, Linus and Lucy sitting out in the patch…not to mention the many memorable costumes spotted at the Halloween party and trick-or-treating beforehand!
Let’s start with a few ideas, from simple to a bit more time-consuming:
- Grab a red scarf and a pair of brown shades to transform into Snoopy’s Red Baron persona.
- Take a page from the movie and cut a bunch of holes in a white, inexpensive sheet. Just make sure two of those holes line up with your eyes. 😂
- Find the bluest blanket you can and hold on to it all evening, Linus.
- With a store-bought pumpkin costume, you can become the long-awaited guest of honor. Or you might simply choose a set of orange pajamas.
- Cut some black felt into a zigzag pattern and use a hot glue gun or fabric glue to stick it toward the bottom of a plain yellow T-shirt. Voila! Charlie Brown has arrived.
- With a pair of white pajamas, you can use the same hot glue gun or fabric glue to attach a Snoopy tail. Throw on a white hoodie with black felt “ears” glued to it and clip on a red dog collar for the full effect!
DIYs and activities
Halloween-themed activities are an easy way to keep the fun going and make some memories.
- Set up a pumpkin carving station and let guests choose from a variety of Peanuts-themed jack-o’-lantern templates.
- Or have them try their hand at pumpkin painting! See who can paint the most impressive character or scene on their pumpkin. You could give out a Peanuts®-themed gift as a prize!
- Hide these Great Pumpkin-themed Snoopy plush and create a scavenger hunt or use the plush for a (gentle!) game of cornhole.
- Have a screening of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” or stream it at a low volume in the background.
- Print out some paper cats for an easy craft your guests can decorate. Have googly eyes and colorful craft pipe cleaners on hand.
- Make your own Snoopy Halloween trivia game. Come up with 10 or more questions based on “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” to test your guests’ knowledge of this Halloween classic. Again, you could give a themed gift as a prize!
Happy celebrating, friends. May the Great Pumpkin decide to visit your patch and make all your Halloween wishes come true.
